Summer Diaries: Live Afro-Cuban Music at the Queens Museum

After the renovation of the Queens Museum I thought it was past time I went to see it. Yesterday I did. It was opened until 8pm and admission was free after 6pm. I browsed quickly through their exhibitions because I didn't want to keep my friend waiting. But I mean to go back soon and take time. After all, it is only about a twenty minute walk from my apartment. There was live Afro-Cuban music and I could not stop smiling as I watched both young and old couples dance so smoothly and so beautifully.  Made me want to get my ballroom dancing together. Later there was a movie (Habanastation), then we rolled up the blanket and walked home a little after 10pm. It was all very laid-back and fun.

Have a blast!
