Going MIA For A Bit

Thanks for stopping by.  If you notice that I haven't any current posts it is because I'm up to a couple of things and I can't blog for now. I will start blogging again on October 17th! So until then, stay awesome.

Broadway Review: Follies

Last Thursday evening I saw Follies. Here's what you have to know if you plan on seeing this musical. DO NOT LEAVE after the first Act.  The First act is a bit dull, though not too bad on the ears. It seems like nothing much would be happening and you start feeling a little let down.  No, mate! It get's better. Trust me here.  Do go back to your seat after that fifteen minutes intermission.

The main story is simple: four friends (two married couples) come to a reunion party at a theater which is soon to become a car park, to celebrate their wives past stage performances. It unfolds that these two couples, once best-friends are now very much unhappy, and unsatisfied with their lives.  It is a love triangle, you know, the sort where  A loves B, but B loves C and C loves A kind of thing.

The stage remains a little boring in the first act but everything happens in the second. Colors and I mean loads of colors. The stage becomes very much alive, the music soars and the story is …

Loom Knitting: Hats

It took a while but I finally finished the baby hats for my friend's baby girl.  I started the yellow one a while back and finished it off on Sunday, adding extra pom-poms. I started and finished the white hat on Sunday but instead of creating a folded brim, I crocheted a flared brim. I think they are cute, what do you think? If you would like to learn how to loom knit a baby hat click here to watch a YouTube tutorial on how to.

MTV Music Award Shows Are A Waste

Seriously I don't understand why I watch them.  MTV award shows are always arbitrary. I am so upset about the last one that there was no way I could have immediately blogged about it without going all  Kanye West-ish.  So I waited until the emotions simmered and now I'm ready to howl.

You would think that awards would go to those of some real talent, not those who know how to work the fans. It's tedious and immensely frustrating to watch these shows and see a fine method of appreciation go to the gutters.  Loads of "musicians" (who obviously don't give a hoot about making great music, more obsessed with fame and money than anything) walk onto the stage and accept awards for producing unoriginal sounds, cheap lyrics full of insulting and unclear messages, explicit videos that are more porno-graphical than artistic.

For cherry's sake, they had Chris Brown dangling about the stage like he never hit Rhianna. Yes, yes, I know it's in the past. But it'…
