Why NYPL Makes My Mondays

Every Monday I download three songs through NYPL for FREE. Legal and no worries of spam or a nagging conscience.  I found out about this from mon petit ami,  and I have been most happy on Mondays since. It is so easy to use.  I don't know how it works on a PC but this is how I access it on my Mac.

1. Go to nypl.org
2. Click on "Find books, DVDs and More."
3. Click on "E-books and Audiobooks"
4. Click on "Freegal Music"
5. Enter your library Card number and password
6. Find your artist and song
7. Get high on music!

I had been working on John Mayer's Battle Studies but I got distracted and started on The Script's Science & Faith Album today.  In the past I've downloaded Adele's #19 and # 21 albums. I also got Simon and Garfunkel's Sound of Silence, it's like one of my favorite songs. I pulled a few songs from Buckcherry's Live and Loud 2009 album.

Every now and then when I strike gold I buy an album.  My recent purchase was Michael Buble's  "Call Me Irresponsible." I love that album. I can't explain what it does to me. I suppose it's a kind of high that's safe and yet so great.

If you don't already have that precious NYPL account, I hope you would get one soon. Unless of course you have got enough cash to spend. For me, (a very Ghanaian way to start a sentence) I am broke with very limited cash inflow.

  1. Yeah! I was completely unaware of Freegal. Thank God my account is still active!!!!

  2. Haha I'm glad you know now, Nina. I wish everyone knew. It's such a cool freebie!
